We had a visitor that helped with the weather balloon launch this afternoon, Margo (ASA) from the NWS office in Tucson! Fun fact: Did you know that over 900 weather balloons are launched at the same time, twice a day, across the world? As our balloon and radiosonde are rising through the atmosphere, all of the other balloons across the world are ascending as well, capturing a 'snapshot' of the atmosphere to feed into our weather prediction models.
