Spitfire of the @raf_bbmf_official flying over Hengistbury Head 🇬🇧 Spitfire MK356 was part of a batch of Mk IX Spitfires built at the Castle Bromwich factory in early 1944. It was fitted with full-span wingtips and a Rolls-Royce Merlin 66 engine with a two-speed, two-stage supercharger optimised for low altitudes, making it a L.F. (Low Flying) Mk IXe. History was made today when Spitfire Mk. IX TE517 arrived in Turkey! This is the first time Spitfire has flown in Turkey 🇹🇷 for over 70 years. This spitfire will now be owned and operated by the @msoairspacemuseum under the careful eye of Mr. @aliismetozturk … for all you Warbird officiardos you should follow the progress of this amazing museum, which I am proud to be a volunteer at along with many other amazing volunteers from Ground crew, Admin, staff, the whole team, the family and Pilots!
